The Sheriff addressed what his department was doing to combat the violence. His plans included the creation of a seven-person gang unit using existing deputies reassigned from other duties.  The new gang unit would be used throughout Grant County for gang-related incidents.

The Sheriff's Office also pledged to work continuously with all communities in the county to help stop gang violence.
