SPOKANE, Wash-- Hotspot patrols by the Spokane Police Department led to the arrest of a wanted man Wednesday morning.

Police began increased patrols of crime hotspots in the City during February.

WATCH: Tracking crime hotspots helps SPD decrease crime levels.

An officer patrolling the area of Cannon and Mallon stopped a man on a bike who made several traffic violations according to police.

The 32-year-old Eric Shauman had two warrants out for his arrest.

When police stopped Shauman, he allegedly had methamphetamine and hydrocodone in his possession.

Police said Shauman was booked into jail on the outstanding warrants and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
