SPOKANE, Wash. -- Firefighters responded to a fire at a home in North Spokane Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived at the duplex near North Crestline Street and East Dalke Avenue around 1:30 p.m. The first crew on-scene reported smoke showing from the 2 story home. Further investigation found the flames sparked on the kitchen stove in the basement before spreading to a nearby wall.
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes and there were no reported injuries.
The occupants inside the home at the time made it out safely. Firefighters would not allow anyone back inside for the rest of the day so Red Cross was called in to assist the people dispaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the SFD Special Investigation Unit. Damage to the home was estimated at $15,000.
