SPOKANE -- South Hayford Road off of Highway 2 near Airway Heights is back open after a downed power pole blocked the roadway for about an hour Wednesday morning. Officials says a driver hit the pole and then fled the scene. The driver has not been caught. An Avista Power crew responded to the scene and moved the pole and power line out of the roadway. According to Avista's outage website as of 7:45 a.m., no one had lost power from this event.
