SPOKANE -- Spokane Police are searching for a driver who slammed his car into another vehicle and then took off.
The driver who was hit was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Washington State Patrol spent hours investigating the crash that happened on Highway 195 at Thorpe around 6:30 p.m.
Deputies said the driver who caused the wreck was traveling east on Thorpe when he failed to yield and crashed into an SUV headed north on the highway.
The collision left a Honda CRV mangled and paramedics rushed its driver, 54-year-old Mahmud Al-Hafian of Spokane to the hospital. Deputies said Al-Hafian was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Investigators said the vehicle they are looking for is possibly a White Subaru Legacy with right front corner and window damage, and a flat right tire.
