SPOKANE -- Hillyard shops and restaurants got a jolt of business over the weekend as people celebrated the community’s 101st annual festival.

A parade marched through downtown Hillyard, and car lovers showed off their Hotrods on the main drag.

Up to 12,000 people were expected to attend the free festival.

Brandy Morris is part owner of Outlaw Café. She said her sales increase by 50% during the event.

“It brings customers from everywhere to our area,” she said.

The Hillyard Festival is one of about ten events the community hosts each year.
