SPOKANE, Wash. -- Fire crews put out a house fire Saturday afternoon in Hillyard.
Firefighters said there were flames in the attic when they arrived on scene around 1 p.m. on the 2300 block of E. Sanson. Crews confined the fire to the attic and prevented it from spreading to the roof above.
Three occupants made their way safely out of the building. No injuries were reported.
The electrical system in the home was compromised because of the fire and the Red Cross was called to the scene to take care of the occupants now displaced by the fire.
There was fire, smoke, and water damage reported throughout the home. The total loss was estimated at $30,000.
The cause of the fire was placed under investigation.
