COLVILLE, Wash. --Washington State Patrol troopers blamed a pick-up truck driver for a crash which closed part of Highway 395 on Tuesday morning. Investigators released their findings in the afternoon.
The wreck closed both lanes of Highway 395 near Colville around 10 a.m.
Troopers said that Shaun Mercer, 48, crossed the centerline while going southbound. The Kettle Falls man hit the driver’s side of a Chevrolet pick-up truck.
Investigators believed that Mercer was driving under the influence at the time of the wreck. He faces DUI charges according to troopers.
Both drivers suffered injuries. Mercer was flown to Sacred Heart in Spokane by MedStar. The other driver was hospitalized at Mt. Carmel.
