HAYDEN, Idaho -- The Guardians Foundation says they are about to find a place for almost every homeless veteran in north Idaho to live.

The group is hard at work turning the Tamarack Mobile Home Park into homes for dozens of homeless veterans.

The Guardians Foundation is still in phase one. The group, along with veterans, are working to remove debris and garbage from the area they will call their new home. Phase two will begin the renovations to the trailers so veterans can move in.

Last year, veteran Shawn South, was living in his car and now he is living in one of the new mobile homes.

"I love it. It's nice to have a place to call home," said South.

Founder of The Guardians Foundation, Mike Shaw, says his non-profit is already the largest housing provider for north Idaho vets.

"We didn't know we'd be in a position to do that but here we are," said Shaw.

Shaw also says the group will help provide enough homes to end veteran homelessness in the are by this fall.

They started placing vets in homes last spring.
