SPOKANE, Wash. – After the final meals of the year are served up inside the Center of Gonzaga, affectionately known as “The COG,” the building will be demolished to make room for a new university center that will be more than double the size.
“The COG” was built for about 700 students back in the 1950s. Gonzaga has grown, and now the university has plans for an all-encompassing university center in its place.
During the two-year construction, Gonzaga’s dining will be temporarily relocated on the main level of the Boone Avenue Retail Center (BARC).
On Wednesday, the campus community will “Kiss the COG Goodbye,” signing the walls and unveiling the designs for the new university center.
The final meal served at the COG will be dinner on Friday, May 10.
