DENVER, Colorado -- Girl Scout cookies will be on sale starting Sunday through March 2 and there is no more pre-ordering. Girl Scouts will be bringing cookies straight to your doorstep.
This year, Girl Scout cookies will cost $4 a package.
As the largest fundraising activity for Girl Scouts of Colorado each year, the increase will generate additional funds that will help the largest girl-led business in the country to stay competitive and help the organization continue provide cutting edge programming to help build the leaders of tomorrow.
In fact, Girl Scout troops will get an extra 10 cents per package, which will go a long way in helping girls fulfill the goals they are setting like going to summer camp. Girl Scouts of Colorado is one of the last Girl Scout councils in the country and this region to go up to $4 a package.
The last price increase in Colorado was in 2011.

Cookie cost - $4
Troop proceed and girl rewards - .84
Cost of cookies - .95
Council support/programming (like camps, which are subsidized by as much as 50 percent through cookie sales) - 2.20
