SPOKANE VALLEY-- Spokane Valley Police are searching for a man who assaulted a convenience store clerk overnight.
It happened around 2:00 a.m. Monday at the Cenex Zip Trip at Sinto and Mullan.
Police say an intoxicated man entered the store trying to buy beer, but when the clerk refused to sell it he attacked him. Police say the suspect took off with the clerk's phone so he couldn't call police. No word yet if the suspect got away with anything else.
Here's a description of who they're looking for: a white man, mid-twenties, about 5'9", 190 to 200 lbs. with short brown hair and scruffy facial hair. He was last seen wearing jeans, a light colored shirt and a white baseball cap.
