SPOKANE -- People gathered at a North Spokane convenience store Thursday to observe the four years that have passed since a mentally-disabled man died at the hands of Spokane Police.
Otto Zehm was beaten and tazered at the Zip Trip store where he was mistaken for robbing an ATM. He died two days later in the hospital.
Attorneys in the federal criminal case will be in court Friday, arguing whether Zehm's prior medical history should be allowed in the trial.
The civil lawsuits against the City of Spoknae are on hold until the criminal case is resolved.
Spokane Police had no comment today in regards to the incident.
