WHITMAN COUNTY-- A national publication just named "Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories" as one of the top businesses to work for in the United States.
Fortune Magazine ranked the Pullman-based company number 95 among the top 100.
We’re told it usually takes multiple tries for companies to make the list, but Schweitzer did it on their very first attempt.
Nancy Hindman joined SEL nearly 23-years ago, she says the recognition speaks volumes to her team's dedication. "We're very open with our employee owners, so that we all know how we're doing financially, we know if there are struggles and opportunities to improve, and we work together again, to serve our customers."
SEL is a leader in the power protection industry, creating products that minimize blackouts, and electrical system damage. The equipment serves thousands of utilities around the world.
Fortune surveyed employees about workplace culture, the company, and then submitted a portfolio highlighting their work.
Schweitzer just celebrated the hire of their 3,000th employee worldwide.
Human resource officials at SEL say they're in the process of expanding and they currently have 200 positions to fill.
