NEZ PERCE COUNTY, Idaho— A five year old was killed after a car crashed into a utility pole Saturday night in Lapwai.

Idaho State Police said 38-year-old Bianca G. Sekayouma was driving southbound on Highway 95 at around 8:25 p.m. with 7-year-old Mia Martinez and 5-year-old Maya Martinez in the car.

Sekayouma was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and crashed into a utility pole on the north side of Lapwai, rolling the vehicle multiple times according to police.

Sekayouma and the two passengers were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center with injuries, where Maya was pronounced dead.

Police said no one was wearing seatbelts and all passengers were ejected from the Jeep Commander.

Idaho State Police were investigating the crash on Sunday.
