Otis Orchards, Wash. -- A family smelled smoke in their home by Wellesley and Kenney Sunday night, but couldn't locate where it might be coming from. It got worse Monday morning, and prompted a call to the Spokane Valley Fire Dept.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy, black smoke in the home, but didn't immediately locate the source. They've called an investigator to the scene. Crews cut a hole in the roof to ventilate and gain access.
Most of the family members are thought to be okay and accounted for, with the exception of one. Family members said it was likely they were already at class when smoke filled the home this morning.
