OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. -- One person died in a vehicle crash in Okanogan County Monday morning around 6:30. Two other people were reportedly involved. It happened near Fish Lake Road and Sinlahekin Road according to authorities.

Carissa Amundson, 22, of Omak was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene according to authorities. Officials said Garrett Peterson, 19, was in the vehicle when authorities and medical personnel arrived. Authorities also said that Sophia Best, 19, was able to get out of the vehicle after the crash. Best managed to walk to a campground near Fish Lake and get help according to officials.

Peterson reportedly had several injuries, including a head injury, and Best also had injuries. Officials said they were both taken to a hospital to be treated.

Officials said Amundson was likely the driver at the time of the crash. They said that it is still not known whether drugs or alcohol were involved but the investigation is still ongoing.
