Family of S. Hill murder victim remembers man ‘surrounded by love’

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The family of a man shot to death in his South Hill home over the weekend said they were doing their best to recall the wonderful memories they had of their father.

Officers found Douglas Carlile, 63, dead in his home near 25th and Garfield Sunday night.  Investigators believe Carlile was targeted.

Carlile’s family said he was a man surrounded by love.

He had been married to his wife for 42 years.  Together they had well over a dozen grandchildren whom he loved spending time with, family members said.

According to the family, Carlile was also a Christian who loved making others happy.

The family tells KREM 2 News they were letting the detectives perform their investigation into the horrific crime.

Meanwhile, Spokane Police said they were devoting all the resources they had available into getting justice for the Carlile family.
