SPOKANE, Wash.-- Several people escaped early Monday after a fire sparked in their garage just outside Spokane.
It happened just after 5 a.m. on the 5600 block of W. Smith, near Windsor Elementary School.
Fire crews said the fire destroyed the garage but they managed to keep it from jumping to a nearby home. The home, however, did receive extensive smoke damage.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not been released.
