SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Police say they'll have an enhanced presence at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day unity parade in Spokane.
That includes members of the bomb squad along the route, a helicopter overhead and uniformed officers at each intersection.
Police leaders also are walking in the parade, which starts at 10 a.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.
In Spokane's 2011 Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade a backpack bomb was found along the route and disabled. White supremacist Kevin Harpham was convicted and sentenced to 32 years in federal prison.
