SPIRIT LAKE, Idaho -- Fire crews said a small brushfire burning northeast of Spirit Lake was contained Saturday afternoon.
Bonner County officials removed evacuation warnings for homeowners near Spirit Lake threatened by a brushfire. They said the 7 1/2 acre Clagstone Fire sparked around 9:30am Saturday morning, and was reported around noon. It threatened ten homes.
The Bonner County Sheriff's Department said about 20 firefighters were battling the fire. They managed to set up a retardant perimeter.
There were road blocks set up at Peregrine Road and Spirit Lake Cutoff.
About 25 firefighters spent the day fighting the fire. They said they planned to stay on scene thoughout Saturday night to make sure it doesn't reignite.
There was no word as to what sparked the fire.
