ELK, Wash.--Spokane County road crews were finding dozens of trouble spots in March after a rain and snow melt off.
Run off washed out part of a road in Elk. Neighbors said the stretch on Bridges road is the worst road in town. It is a big obstacle for drivers. Cars weave through the cracks and ditches. One woman said she has to put a board down just to get out of her driveway.
"The ditch is full of ice so there's no way you could go down the ditch with it running out into the road,” said driver Mike Strantz.
"You could get in an accident because if you are paying attention or not paying attention and you're trying to dodge the holes,” said resident Don Vosahio.
Vosahio said he wants to the County to fix the roads.
"The past few years, this has deteriorated. I don't believe they've done a whole lot to it,” said Vosahio.
The County Road Department is working on it. Crews said they have already been to it. They said they go down every road looking for trouble sports, accessing the damage and prioritizing which ones to fix first.
