CHENEY, Wash. -- The EWU football team leaves Tuesday afternoon, but lots of the fans who are headed to Frisco, Texas are catching the first flight out Thursday morning to support their players in the FCS National Championship.
Myk and Marnie Crawford are graduates of Eastern. They met there as students and they're huge football fans.
Marnie said the decision to travel to Frisco came in the final moments of the EWU-Villanova semifinal game last month.
“We were in the stands, 4th quarter was winding down, I looked at him and said take all my Christmas presents back we're going to Frisco if they make it,” said Marnie.
The moment they got home from Cheney they booked their tickets using frequent flier miles and got a good rate on a hotel.
“We're on a thin budget, but we're making it work,” said Myk.
They don't want to miss the Eagles chance to make history.
“That's also another reason why we're going, once in a lifetime chance for your school to go to a national championship,” said Marnie.
“If the red field didn't put them on this map, this definitely puts them on the map,” said Myk.
