SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.-- Officers arrested two men early Wednesday after they led authorities on a high speed chase through Spokane Valley.
Spokane Valley police said it started around 1:30 a.m. when they spotted a stolen SUV. As they attempted to pull the car over, the driver sped away reaching speeds upwards of 80 miles per hour.
Officers initiated a pit maneuver to stop the car near Broadway and Pines. The SUV ended up smashing into the front of a patrol car.
Authorities arrested the driver and one passenger. Upon investigating, they also found methamphetamine in the car.
The driver was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, attempt to elude, and possession of a controlled substance. The passenger was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. The driver could also be charged with assault for crashing into the patrol car.
No injuries were reported.
