SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police searched for a man late Tuesday accused firing a gun at a man.

It happened in the Hillyard neighborhood around 9:45 p.m. near the 2900 block of East Joseph.

Authorities said a man was standing on his lawn when he confronted a man driving by.  The driver then shot the 41-year-old man after some kind of argument, according to police.  The victim’s girlfriend reportedly called 911 to report the shooting.

Emergency crews took the victim to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Police said the man sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.

Officials said the suspect was driving a black Monte Carlo with tinted windows and black rims.  The alleged shooter was described as an African-American male between 30 and 35 years old.

Police did not believe the incident was gang-related.
