SPOKANE, Wash. -- Saturday was the last day for swimmers at Comstock Park’s pool. On Sunday, pool-time was reserved only four those on four legs.
Kimber Schoeffel was just one of the local pet owners who brought their dogs to cool off at the pool on West 29th Avenue.
“I think it's fun even though he doesn't go in the water,” Schoeffel said. “He gets to play with everyone - it's like being at the dog park in the summer.”
Sunday’s ‘Doggy Dip’ was the third annual fundraiser for Spokanimal and the Spokane Parks Foundation.
“It's fun for him to get around with the other dogs and have him swimming,” said pet owner Jennifer Alt.
For $10 dogs like Jennifer’s could spend the day lounging around or in the pool, with proceeds benefitting animals of all kinds in Spokane County. In the last few years, Spokanimal has raised thousands of dollars for its dog park.
There were two more Doggy Dip days scheduled on Monday and Tuesday at local pools:
- Shadle Pool - August 26th from 5pm-8pm
- Hillyard Pool -August 27th from 5pm-8pm
