SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Authorities in Spokane Valley arrested two men Wednesday night after pursuing a vehicle for reckless driving.
The Spokane Violent Crime Gang Enforcement Team attempted to stop a Monte Carol at Interstate 90 and Argonne. Authorities said the driver acted as if he was going to stop and then fled the scene.
Officials said the driver went south on Argonne and east on Mission. The driver drove off Mission into a swale but was able to get back onto Mission and went south on Mullan Road. The Gang Enforcement Team said they then terminated the pursuit because Mullan is a one-way northbound road.
A few minutes later, a deputy found the suspect’s car abandoned at Horizon Credit Union on Mullan and Main. The car had crashed into the building.
A deputy drove west on Main Avenue and found two suspects matching other deputy’s description.
Steven Lewis, 21, and Oshay Sharp, 19, were arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Lewis was booked on a Domestic Violence warrant. Sharp was booked on a Minor In Possession warrant. Authorities said charges of Hit and Run, Felony Eluding and Reckless Driving are pending.
