SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.—Spokane Valley Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 16-year-old female student on Sunday who they said was threatening to bring a gun to Barker High School and kill one or more students on Monday.
Deputies said they discovered the girl was making similar threats directed at a second student who attends Shadle Park High School. The threats were being communicated through Facebook, according to deputies.
A University High Resource Deputy and a Central Valley Resource Officer interviewed two potential victims, collected the Facebook evidence and contacted the suspect.
A deputy placed the girl under arrest after an interview for two counts of Felony Harassment-Threat to kill.
She was booked into Juvenile Detention Sunday afternoon.
