AIRWAY HEIGHTS-- The Department of Corrections launched a new pilot program in Airway Heights focused on changing the behavioral thinking skills of offenders.
The program is one of two prison pilot projects in the state and is part of an agency-wide initiative to increase staff and public safety by focusing on offenders’ behavioral thinking skills.
The programs are reserved for higher-risk offenders who are near their release date. Offenders must demonstrate changed behavior, not just complete a course.
Officials at the Airway Heights Corrections Center are hopeful that it'll make a difference.
