SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.—A deadly fight over cigarettes landed a local man in prison for the next 14 years.

A judge sentenced Shane Smith, 40, to 171 months in prison on Tuesday for 1st Degree Manslaughter.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Suspect admits to shooting

Smith shot and killed Warren Flynn, 44, in 2012 near 3rd and Lake. Smith told detectives he and Flinn had been out "scrapping" for metal near the railroad tracks on Lake Road.  Smith said he and Flynn had an argument over cigarettes that led to him shooting Flynn in the back of the head.

Medics confirmed that Flynn had been shot twice in the back of the head. He later died from his injuries.
