QUINCY, Wash.-- Police have decided not to seek charges against three Ephrata High School Students accused of hanging dead rabbits around Quincy High School.
Quincy police officers said it was a prank so investigators are leaving it up to the school to discipline the students. School leaders said the students were already suspended from playing in the Ephrata-Quincy football game a few weeks ago.
Quincy’s mascot is the Jack-Rabbits. School officials said this is not the first time this has happened.
Authorities said they found at least five dead rabbits. The Quincy football coach spotted several people outside the school and they fled when the coach approached them. Police and district officials said the coach discovered dead rabbits in various locations on school grounds. The rabbits were hanging on trees, the scoreboard, the goal post and on the field.
