COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho -- Firefighters responded to a fire burning along the shoreline near Cougar Gultch Friday.

Crews responded to the area near US Route 95 and Espinoza Drive late Friday morning.  Officials said the fire, estimated at around an acre, was mostly contained by noon.

No structures were damaged or threatened, according to authorities.

It was not immediately known what may have caused the fire. Fire officials said the fire was likely started by someone that was fishing in the area.
