SPOKANE, Wash. -- Crews battled a fire at a vacant home near Shadle Park on Longfellow and A Street. Witnesses reported no one was injured but there was partial damage due to smoke and flames.

Fire crews responded at 4:25 Friday morning. Officials said the first responders reported fire visible from a front window and moderate smoke from the attic vents of the one-story house.

A neighbor reported seeing smoke and called in fire crews, according to authorities. Crews saw a broken window when they arrived but were not sure if it was blown out from the fire or if somebody had broken in. Officials said the fire was put out quickly. The damage was estimated at around $15,000 according to authorities.

A Street will be closed one block north and south of Longfellow Avenue. The Special Investigation Unit of the Spokane Fire Department is investigating.
