SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane firefighters were kept busy overnight Tuesday, battling two fires in the city.
Authorities said flames damaged a unit at the Cedar Green Apartments at E. Marietta Ave. and N. Market St. Smoke was reported coming from the roof of the building.
The fire was contained to the one unit, firefighters said.
Firefighters battled another fire just after midnight at a South Hill home near E. 6th Ave. and S. Altamont St. The first crews on scene said heavy fire was blowing out of several windows of the single-story home.
No one was inside at the time.
The fire was knocked down after twenty minutes but not before the fire had severely damaged the interior of the structure and destroyed most of the contents inside, investigators said.
There were no reports of injuries in either fire. The cause of both fires was placed under investigation.
