Green Bluff, WASH. – Farmers looking to make some extra cash are hosting weddings and parties. But some neighbors aren't happy with the noise. Some have expressed concerns to Spokane County about those events.
Now, the planning commission will address it. It will first hear out the community, then could possibly change the zoning and come up with rules to regulate it.
Some folks say they don’t like how the parties run on the weekends all summer long. They also worry about drunk drivers on the roadways.
Joanne Smatlan offers weddings on her property at High Country Orchard. She says she monitors music and cuts the party off an hour earlier than county ordinances require. Smatlan also says half of the events don't include alcohol.
A preliminary meeting is at 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the Spokane County Public Works building on 1026 W. Broadway.
