MOSCOW, Idaho – Hundreds of people gathered Thursday night to remember University of Idaho graduate student Katy Benoit.

Moscow police say the 22 year old was killed Monday by former UI professor, Ernesto Bustamante.  Bustamante then turned the gun on himself.

More than 300 people gathered for a vigil Thursday night.  Friends say Benoit touched their lives more than she could have ever known.  Some shared funny stories; others shared the sensitive side of Katy.  Friends say she was a hard working student who loved her field of study, psychology.

Friends say what happened was a tragedy, but they will always remember the good times they shared with Katy.
