Other citizens began to call in reports of a man waving a machete soon after. One alleged victim told police the suspect, Kenneth “Randy” Randal Smith, 38, put the machete to his throat before chasing a second victim with the weapon. Police say both of these victims were not part of the original fight.

Smith was put in the Kootenai County Jail for aggravated battery, aggravated assault, resisting/ obstructing an officer, malicious injury to property, two counts of battery and driving under the influence.

In court Monday Smith claimed he was the one being attacked and chased.
