SPOKANE-- The City of Coeur d’Alene is considering revising an ordinance that would give disabled people better access to the beach.
City leaders are exploring the idea of putting ramps right into the lake on public beaches.
To allow the ramps, the city must change the shoreline ordinance.
Currently no construction is allowed in areas within 40 feet of most of the water. The changes would allow only items like ramps within that space.
City officials will meet in October to discuss the changes.
