SPOKANE, Wash. -- An undercover investigation led police to an arson suspect. Police arrested Philip B. Lewis, 47, for three counts of 2nd Degree Arson.

Investigators said that Lewis lit three fires at Coeur d’Alene Park on Saturday afternoon. The fires were set in trash cans near 2nd and Chestnut around 1:30 p.m. Officers said that a wedding was going on nearby when the fires began.

The fires prompted police to start an undercover investigation within hours. Police said that they witnessed another fire being set around 3:30 p.m.  Officers said the suspect lit the contents of a trash can on fire and then walked away. Police followed and arrested Lewis.
