SPOKANE -- The man accused of gunning down two people in a neighborhood grocery store made his first court appearance Wednesday.
One of the victims died. The other man was listed in serious but stable condition at a Spokane hospital.
Police said 33-year-old Shannon Johnson walked into the store near Euclid and Thor on New Year’s Eve.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument over a woman, money and drugs, according to court documents. Police said Johnson shot the other two and then ran away.
Authorities used a SWAT team, K-9 units, and the Air 1 helicopter to located Johnson. He was found hiding under a bridge.
A judge set Johnson’s bond at $1 million.
