CHATTAROY, Wash. – Riverside Village Mobile Home Park finished the first phase of clean up after a giant wind storm hit in July.
Since the storm hit, maintenance crews, neighbors, and volunteers lifted trees off homes and moved debris into piles.
On Monday, August 25th, those piles were hauled off the property.
“This is just the beginning, there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done,” said Deana Thomas, a Riverside Village Mobile Home Park resident.
Local organizations and donors have helped the rebuilding process. Some families have moved, but most have stayed to rebuild.
Neighbors have remained hopeful even though there is much more damage to be fixed.
Recovery specialists said that cleanup efforts have already cost nearly $35,000.
