SPOKANE, Wash.--A busy one-way Spokane street in Downtown could eventually take on traffic from both directions.
The Planning and Development Services team is studying the benefits of changing Main Avenue into a two-way through the Downtown Spokane corridor. A city leader said the idea comes for the 2009 Downtown Plan. The plan called for a future study about changing Main Avenue from a one-way to a two-way.
Cities leaders said Main Avenue could work as a two-way with no major negative impact on traffic flows in Downtown. The study said two-ways support retail and entertainment.
