SPOKANE, Wash.  – Local nonprofit Christ Kitchen is taking orders for its special Valentine-themed cookies and food baskets. Those who buy one can also know they are helping a cause: employing women living in poverty.

Christ Kitchen Sales and Marketing Director Kim Kelly said when you buy treats from Christ Kitchen, you are spreading your love far beyond your special someone.

“They are impacting deeper than they can imagine,” Kelly said. “First of all, they’re putting these women to work making those products, which is absolutely huge. Then they’re spreading the love of our product, which is getting the name out there, which is what we need. If we’re not selling our product, then we’re not employing women.”

Pickup orders are welcomed, but Christ Kitchen also delivers for a $5 fee within five miles of the storefront at Carlisle and Monroe, and a $10 fee for anything beyond that.

To place an order, call Christ Kitchen at (509) 325-4343.
