RHINEBECK, N.Y. (AP) -- Wedding experts say Chelsea Clinton's gala this weekend could run upwards of $2 million to $3 million.

That compares to the roughly $24,000 most American newlyweds spend on their special day.

Details have been notoriously difficult to pry loose, but industry insiders have gathered enough intelligence to estimate some of the costs of Saturday's wedding.

Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, is marrying investment banker Marc Mezvinsky.

The most expensive item? Catering, estimated at $750,000 by Brides magazine deputy editor Sally Kilbridge.

Toilets could run about $15,000 to $20,000.

Great job reporting, KREM: I agree BRI but I have to say that the Clintons had the economy going good till the republicans destroyed it! A cracker Jack box for a ring and ten bucks is enough for me! Just think of all the homes I could buy for the poor with all that money! How people could be so selfish I don't know! Now, as theh great John who should have taken Bushe's so that we would not have went broke, he has what he has because he knows what he is doing! HHe would have made the best president that this nation ever had but the lame could not see it! Therefore, Obama is!

This is what a politician strives for. Ya right, they are for the working class people, Look at John Kerry and multiple houses and a 6 million dollar boat, and he also is for the working class. These people have no idea how the working class live! How can you ever believe the stuff that comes out of their mouths?

I you ****ing kidding me? THAT is where 3-5 million dollars is going to?????? Really!?! Come on! I spent $3,000 on my wedding one year ago. A] I worked a minimum wage crappy job B.] Who the hell wants to spend more than $7,000 on a wedding that more than likely won't last anyway? Total waste of money. I hardly think this is news. I am NOT happy for her for being an idiot. How can I be happy for her, when at least $4.5 million of that money can go to other things? Like education, the oil spill or food for the needy? It's things like this that irritate me. I despise people who spend their money foolishly...and by foolishly, I mean throwing 3-5 million dollars at a wedding. Ignorance is bliss, right?
