CHATTAROY, Wash. -- A Chattaroy man suffering from a brain cyst raised $10,000 for his surgery by selling his car.

KREM 2 News originally introduced viewer to Ross Anderson in April. Anderson offered to exchange his 2006 Mustang GT for surgery. He went so far as to put his car on Craigslist.

He contacted KREM 2 News on Monday and said the car finally sold for $10,000. The money will go to the BrainCystLyme Fund. He also set up an account at Numerica Credit Union called “LymeBrainFund.”

Anderson pledged to donate his money toward finding a cure for Lyme disease if he cannot receive treatment.

A doctor found a cyst in Anderson’s brain a few years ago. However, Anderson was not able to start tests or treatment because he did not have health insurance.
