NORTH SPOKANE -- Spokane Fire crews raced to rescue a cell phone tower worker who slipped  and was left to dangle high in the air for about a half hour.

Authorities said two men were working on a tower near Eagles Ice-A-Rena at 6321 N. Addison on Sunday afternoon when one of them slipped out of his harness and could not make it back to the platform.

The man’s coworker held on to him. He was also attached to a cable, and dangled 105 feet in the air while rescue crews got their ladder in place. The ladder extends to a maximum of 110 feet.

Firefighters safely helped the man to the ladder, and he was able to climb down to the ground.

It is not known if the man needed any medical attention, but he did not leave in an ambulance.
