BOISE -- The remains of a 22-year-old Meridian soldier killed in Afghanistan will return to Idaho on Wednesday afternoon.
The body of Army Specialist Thomas Murach will arrive at Gowen Field on Wednesday afternoon. Members of the military and the media will be on hand to witness the dignified transfer ceremony.
The dignified transfer ceremony is not a public event.
The 22-year-old and four other soldiers died on Saturday, May 4 in southern Afghanistan when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.
Murach is a 2009 graduate of Cole Valley Christian High School.
Murrach's casket arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware last Tuesday.
