SPOKANE, Wash. -- Cancer Patient Care in Spokane is keeping its doors open thanks to community members.
The facility was in danger of permanently shutting down if it didn’t raise $50,000 in about a month.
Thanks to donations, the center raised all the money it needed on time. The program is now housed in a more affordable facility near the South Hill.
“It was a lot of stress on us, but also to our clients. We had people in our lobby crying asking what we were going to do,” Melissa Halverson of Cancer Patient Care said.
About 450 patients and families come through there each month.
