COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho.-- Coeur d’Alene Police asked for the public’s help finding a suspected Jitterz Java robber Friday night. The suspect demanded money at the stand near the intersection of North Government Way and East Borah Avenue just before 6 p.m. according to police.
The suspect male entered the coffee stand through the entrance/exit door, according to police. Officials said once the suspect was inside the coffee stand, the man ordered the two female employees to the ground and stated “this is a robbery, I have a gun”. No weapon was displayed as the suspect male had a black shirt over his right hand and was pointing it toward the female employees, according to police. Officials said the suspect attempted to open the cash register, but was unsuccessful. He then took an unknown amount of cash from the tip container.
A male witness pulled up to the coffee stand and saw what was going on, and attempted to confront the male suspect, according to police. The man attempted to detain the suspect until police arrived, but the suspect was able to get away, according to police.
One of the employees described the suspect as a very skinny, 5’9” white male in his early 20’s, with short black hair. He was last seen running east on Anton Avenue, wearing blue jean shorts and a white shirt according to police.
