SPOKANE, Wash.—Spokane police encouraged the public to keep track of serial numbers for personal belongings after burglars stole $15,000 worth of custom guitars from a home in the Logan neighborhood.
Police said burglars entered the victim’s home sometime during the day on Tuesday. The burglars made off with a brand new DVD player and eight custom guitars, according to police. There were seven guitars that were manufactured by BC Rich and one was a Jackson model, according to the Spokane Police Department.
Police said Spokane COPS shops carry engravers so members of the public can mark their items with their driver’s licence number and personal information. They also have a registry program for bicycles. Police said taking pictures of personal belongings and keeping track of serial numbers makes it much easier for Spokane Police to return stolen items to their proper owners.
Police asked anyone with information on the burglary to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
